Shaun's Automotive Review ~ 2008 Pontiac G8 GT ~ Test Drive and Virtual Walkaround

2008 Pontiac G8, the car that since my eyes hit it, was the moment I just had to review it. Great looking automobile to say the least. At the time this new model arrived, it was a test demo, only usable by management. That was too bad because I've heard such great press about this Dodge Charger/Chrysler 300 combatant. The reviewing morsals in my brainiac was at work and here's what I think...

The exterior was clean and elegant, a far cry from it's predecessor the Grand Prix. The overall design was a carryover from Australia's Holden model, so alot of the the parts shared well. The headlights were stylish, contained up to date projector beam innards and great looking chrome/black chambers. Fit and finish far exceeded what I thought was average, panels were tight and squeek and rattle free. Moreover, the truck compartment was large enough to fit three bodies and a duffle bag.

Safety options were plentiful, dual frontal and side airbags were evident. Also thrown in are advanced onstar telematics with safe and sound, XM radio, and a very user friendly radio. Albeit, the red instrumentation is starting to get annoying in the Pontiac lineup. I think they should do green, hmmm...yes green, much more pleasing to the eyes.

And not the complaint factory... Cheesy inside decor was something I never expected. Especially for such a coveted sedan, I was thrown by the futile use of hard black plastics. Too stark and bleak even for the likes of me. Seats were comfy but lacked the side bolstering for lateral support. And lastly, I never got to drive it!! But I did get a taste of the 6.0 V8 on the startup, quiet turnover with so much performance potential.

My final take on this bad boy, certainly a grabbing sled that goes above and beyond to appeal to the large sedan masses. If the Impala was ever in your choice list, immediately swap your ride with the sexy Pontiac G8. My number one choice out of the performance large sedan segment, highly recommended!!

It's a V8 and still achieves mid-20's mileage, very enticing for such a rocket. Want to know how you can make it extra great, converting your automobile to a water/gasoline hybrid and achieve double the gas mileage. For more imformation please visit: Click Here!
